Tim S

Q. Where are you from?

A. Born in Windsor,  I have spent my entire life in Chatham, Ontario Canada

Q. What Motorcycle have you chosen for the Ride?

A.  Well I guess I am not old enough to appreciate a wheeled couch like a GoldWing, so I had to do some more figurin’……. then I got to thinking; I have had my Yammy for 28 years, why not get another Yamaha? 2007 FJR1300.  11,000kms.  I plan on getting a trunk/backrest on it for the “other co-owner”.   I pick it up Friday. It doesn’t even look bad with the bags off!!!

Q. Tell us about your riding experience?

A. I had my first bike, a 185 Enduro after high school. A few years later, I moved up to a 1982 Yamaha Seca.  I have been riding the same bike for 28 years, and been through three transmissions and two engines.  After I get my new bike, I will restore it and I will keep it for local rides.  Over the years I have done many trips on this bike, the longest being two days, one way.

Q. Other interests?

A. I do a lot of Snowmobiling so I “stay in the saddle” year round.  My longest trip was in 2008.  Chatham to South River Ontario in three days.

I also 1967 Galaxie 500 convertible in the process of restoration.

Q. What unique items are you going to pack for the trip?

 A. My camera. I will be taking videos along the way.  TomTom GPS.  Never leave home without it…….. Great if you need to do a detour or need to get “off road” for an emergency.

If anyone likes Accordion music, I could bring that also……
